I have been planning this trip since last winter and can't believe it is finally getting close to travel time! I will be hitting five cities, starting with a week in San Francisco where I am on the Charcuterie Committee for this year's Good Food Awards. I am more than honored to be a part of this group that is highlighting the work of chefs and other food produces who create delicious foods from great sources. Rewarding those who choose to take the time to find only the best ingredients is something I am so happy to be a part of. Look for the winners of the contest to be announced in early January. Check out the site for more info here: http://www.goodfoodawards.org/
After SF, I am heading east for several weeks of fun with friends, farm visits, dinners and workshops. I am working with some great farms on these dinners and the menus I am putting together are insane! I am so ready to jump into fall flavors and these menus reflect that with beautiful preparations of autumn squash, apples and root vegetables to compliment the local, heritage breed pork and lamb I am using in each dinner. If you live near any of these cities,I hope to share a wonderful meal with you very soon!
